Main Description:
This PhD position focuses on marine geochemistry and paleoclimate, with the goal of reconstructing environmental changes over the last century using geochemical signatures preserved in corals and foraminifera from New Caledonian coral reefs. The research aims to understand how climatic and environmental changes influence the evolution of microbial communities in tropical Pacific ecosystems, combining approaches from paleoclimatology, sedimentology, and marine biology in a rich interdisciplinary framework.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Marine Sciences, Geochemistry, Paleoclimatology, Sedimentology, or Marine Geology
- Practical experience with geochemistry instruments (LA-ICP-MS, ICP-OES, IRMS) and/or foraminifera identification highly favored
- Strong interdisciplinary approach required
