Main Description
The Makah Tribe's Marine Mammal Program is seeking a Marine Mammal Technician to support ongoing research and monitoring efforts. Responsibilities include gray whale surveys, photo-identification, pinniped monitoring, data management, and assistance with Ozette Lake sockeye salmon research. The position also offers the opportunity to contribute to peer-reviewed manuscript writing and grant applications, as well as exposure to tribal policy and treaty rights.
Requirements
- Experience as a boat operator
- Strong writing skills
- Competence in field work
- Experience with marine research techniques
