Main Description
The Gibson Lab at the University of Virginia is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to study the evolution of dispersal as a parasite avoidance mechanism in host-parasite systems. Research combines experimental evolution, quantitative trait mapping, and field sampling, using C. elegans and its natural parasites as a model system. The position also includes mentoring of undergraduate students.
Requirements
- PhD in Biology or a related field by the start date
- Preferred: experience in host-parasite interactions, evolutionary ecology, or evolutionary genetics
- Preferred: background in dispersal biology, laboratory and molecular work, and experimental design
- Preferred: strong data analysis skills and a publication record
- Preferred: prior mentoring experience
