Main Description:
This 3.5-year PhD investigates how tree-based agricultural systems contribute to wildlife connectivity and habitat provision. The research combines biodiversity surveys, animal movement data, landscape modelling and remote sensing across an international field network. A particular focus is placed on understanding how tree characteristics and spatial configuration influence wildlife movement in fragmented agricultural landscapes.
The project is embedded in an international research programme and involves engagement with land managers and stakeholders across multiple countries.
Requirements:
- Good degree in a relevant subject (wildlife ecology, conservation biology, landscape ecology, spatial ecology or related discipline)
- Experience in field-based research
- Experience in quantitative analysis and data interpretation using R
- Advantageous: wildlife survey methods / camera trapping, GIS and spatial analysis, remote sensing, landscape connectivity modelling
