We are seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Associate for three years who will support the research of Dr Bevis Miller. The post has become available due to the part-time secondment of Dr Miller as the Faculty Director of Education and University of Bristol E-Learning Adviser. Current research projects include a pig model on the role maternal antigen experience on immune development of their offspring (end 2005). A second is an EU funded project Healthy Pigut: (http://www.rennes.inra.fr/healthypigut/), defining and validating gut health criteria in young pig, based on digestive physiology, microbiology and mucosal immunology investigations for testing alternative strategies to in-feed antibiotics (end 2005). Additionally, a new FP6 EU grant, FEED FOR PIG HEALTH: Development of Natural Alternatives to Anti-microbials for The Control of Pig Health and Promotion of Performance (end 2007), has just been awarded. Opportunities will also exist for developing new areas of research.

Grade : Grade 2
Salary : £27,116 - £31,154
