Mitochondrial Apoptosis Group

This position is available to work in the ‘Mitochondrial Apoptosis Group' at The University of Manchester. You will research basic aspects of apoptosis mechanisms regarding tumour suppressor proteins like Bid and Bax, which act on mitochondria. Your research, integrated within a small but competitive group, will involve a variety of biochemical, molecular and cellular approaches (see http://www.sbs.man.ac.uk/mauro for further information). You should hold a good undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences and have proven laboratory skills. Experience in cell culture procedures and molecular biology techniques is highly desirable.
This 3 year position is funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, and will be available from October 2004. Starting salary: £19,460 - £20,540 per annum.
