Research Assistant/Postdoctoral Fellowship in Computer Modeling (New Zealand)

My research group is offering a short-term project exploring the human
settlement of the Pacific region using genetic data and agent based
modeling.

This one-year position is available for either a Research Assistant or
Postdoctoral Fellow depending on the level of the candidate. Candidates
must have proven experience with agent based models, including their
development, implementation and use. Expertise in programming and
statistics is required. Some knowledge of genetics would be welcome,
but training in the biological aspects of this project can be provided
as required.

This position has no fixed start date and will remain open until filled.

The successful candidate will be based in the Computational Biology
Research Group at Massey University, New Zealand. My research team
is firmly embedded in the international scientific community, with
extensive collaborative links to Australia, Indonesia, Europe and the
United States. This position offers a rare opportunity to experience New
Zealand's unique natural and cultural environment. Palmerston North,
a university town with a large international community, offers a full
range of social and cultural amenities. The city is located close to both
mountains and the sea, and presents regular opportunities for hiking,
skiing, surfing and adventure sports.
