Post-doctoral position in Mangrove Biogeochemistry at the University of Hawaii at Manoa

A full-time research position is available for two or more years at the University of Hawaii at Manoa to lead a project on mangrove ecology and biogeochemistry in Southeast Asia.  We seek a motivated individual to lead a study on belowground biogeochemical processes in intact and degraded mangrove forests. The successful candidate will be based in Hilo, Hawaii,
and will work with scientists from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and the USDA Forest Service in Southeast Asia to: (1) quantify sediment accretion and belowground pools and fluxes of carbon and nitrogen; and (2) develop and deliver workshops to train professionals, land managers, and policymakers in the region on protocols used to quantify carbon stocks and greenhouse gas emissions from mangroves. For more information and to apply, see http://workatuh.hawaii.edu/Jobs/NAdvert/19647/2876842/1/postdate/desc. Review of applications is ongoing until a suitable candidate has been identified.  Estimated start date is Fall/Winter 2014. Please contact Dr. Creighton M. Litton (litton@hawaii.edulitton@hawaii.edu>; 1-808-956-6004) with questions.
