Main Description:
PhD position in evolutionary biology and immunology focused on the role of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) in fertilization and male infertility. The work combines genetic analysis in Mexican cavefish (Astyanax mexicanus) and stickleback with in vitro fertilization techniques, single-cell RNA sequencing, and analysis of human genomic datasets.

Requirements:
  • Master's degree in biology or related field
  • Preferably with focus on evolution, molecular or reproductive biology
  • Experience in molecular laboratory techniques, spermatogenesis, or practical work with fish
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)
  • Willingness to learn German
