Main Description:
Two Countryside Warden positions within Guildford Council's Countryside team. Responsible for the sensitive and appropriate management of over 800 hectares of countryside sites (woodlands, chalk downland, heathland, Local Nature Reserves and SSSIs), including habitat conservation works, supervision of volunteers, and promotion of public and educational use of the sites.
Requirements:
- Experience working in the countryside sector
- Knowledge of habitat and countryside management
- Ability to carry out estate management tasks, including scrub clearance, tree felling, coppicing, fencing and other conservation works
- National Certificate in Countryside Management or equivalent experience
- Full driving licence
- Good level of physical fitness
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently
