Contract Type: 2-year postdoctoral position
Main Description: The successful candidate will work on the population genomics of sex chromosome evolution in the crustacean Jaera albifrons. The project aims to molecularly characterize sex chromosomes, reconstruct their evolutionary dynamics, and evaluate their role as reproductive barriers using genomic analyses and gene expression data. This research combines cutting-edge genomic techniques with evolutionary theory to understand sex chromosome turnover and speciation processes.
Requirements:
- PhD in Biology or related field
- Strong background in population genetics and evolutionary biology
- Experience in population genomics (short and long-read sequencing) is advantageous
- Knowledge of transcriptomics
- Programming skills (R, Python, bash, C)
- Experience with high-performance computing (slurm)
