Postdoctoral Fellow in Evolutionary Genomics - Reproductive mode transitions in Littorina snails - University College London, UK - 3 years - £45,103-£48,679/year - Deadline 24 March 2026

Contract Type: 3-year postdoctoral position with funding for extension

Main Description: The position focuses on designing and working with population genomic data to study the evolutionary transition between egg-laying and live-bearing reproduction in Littorina snails. The successful candidate will use genealogical methods (ancestral recombination graphs, ARGs) to identify and date alleles underlying this shift in reproductive mode.

Requirements:
  • PhD in evolutionary genomics or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing large genomic datasets
  • Experience with tree sequences and/or ancestral recombination graphs
  • Strong coding skills and experience with high-performance computing (HPC)
  • Excellent communication skills and conceptual thinking
  • Track record of publishing research
