Doctorado en biología molecular (Alemania)

The research group Experimental Vascular Medicine at the Heinrich Heine University Medical Center of Duesseldorf invites applicants for a PhD student position.

We are looking for an accomplished, highly motivated and career oriented young scientist, preferably with a strong interest in cell/molecular biology and biomedical research. Applicants should hold a Diploma / Master Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Veterinary Medicine or a related discipline.

In the DFG funded project we intend to study the impact of platelets in the progression of Alzheimers’ disease. The study includes different in vitro experiments and verification in an Alzheimer transgenic mouse model. After an initial period of training, the PhD candidate should work independently and self-motivated.

Handicapped applicants will be preferentially considered in case of equivalent qualification. Salary according to TV-L.

Doctorado en neurobiología en Alemania

The Department of Neurobiology at the University of Osnabrück in Germany offers a

PhD position
(tariff 13 TV-L, 50 %)

with the aim to earn a PhD degree (Dr. rer. nat.) for three years, starting earliest in July 2017.

Your Task

• The work will be focused on the analysis of molecular mechanisms of neuronal degeneration during Alzheimer’s disease using microscopic imaging and multi electrode array recordings of cells and mouse tissue (e.g. Neuropharmacology 113:434-44 (2017); 105:84-95 (2016), Mol. Neurodegener. 10:60 (2015)).

Employment requirements

• a qualified university degree in biology or related subject

Optimal would be

• a background or some experiences in electrophysiology and cell culture
• knowledge about working with rodents
• willingness to work in an international team
• high motivation

PhD in molecular mechanisms of Alzheimer (Germany)

We are seeking a highly motivated doctoral student. The work focuses on the analysis of molecular mechanisms of neuronal degeneration during Alzheimer's disease in cell and mouse models (e.g., J. Biol. Chem. 289:16814-16825; J. Neurosci. 29:14439-14450; Neurobiol Aging 32:991-1006). We offer an excellent international environment with state-of-the-art settings. The candidate should have a qualified university degree in biology or related subject. A background in cell culture, work with rodents and biochemical approaches is advantageous.
