WWF-NL is a professional and dynamic organization with an informal working culture based in Zeist, the Netherlands. The working language is English. The organisation consists of four departments: Conservation, Engagement, Organization & Talent Development and Finance & Operations.


For the conservation department, WWF-NL is looking for a Landscape Coordinator South America

(32-40 hours)


The Landscape Coordinator South America will oversee the investments in the four South American landscapes WWF-NL invests in: Amazon, Cerrado, Pantanal and Atlantic Forest. In these 4 landscapes, WWF-NL supports 7 offices and a regional initiative, financially and strategically.


We are looking for a landscape coordinator to help achieving the following long-term goals:


Stop deforestation and conversion and protect remaining habitats


Ensure free flowing and healthy rivers and wetlands


Restore and connect forests


Increase the coverage of indigenous territories and Community reserves


Catalyse and scale a nature positive economy.


The Landscape Coordinator South America reports directly to Merijn Hougee, Head of the International Land- and Seascapes Team (ILT).


Teamwork


The South American coordination team consists of two landscape coordinators and a junior advisor. You will lead the coordination of our support for the region, with the following main tasks:


Further develop our investment strategy and manage our investments and contractual arrangements for the region;


Coordinate additional support to the region by our thematic, engagement and advocacy colleagues;


Develop propositions and raise funds to help achieve the objectives in cooperation with our fundraising team;


Act as an ambassador for these landscapes inside the WWF-NL office and towards external stakeholders in the Netherlands.





Are you strategic and able to develop a vision for nature conservation investments in South America? Do you have experience in the above-mentioned topics and have the skills and drive to fulfill this position?




Tasks and responsibilities


Together with the other landscape coordinator and junior advisor you:


Are responsible for executing investment decisions of WWF-NL to South America according to WWF-NL’s annual investment cycle, including contract management and internal and external reporting


Represent WWF-NL in conservation strategy development and identify risks and opportunities concerning the conservation strategy of the South American WWF offices and landscapes


Advise on the deployment of organizational development funds


Recommend priorities for WWF-NL’s Long Term Planning process and coordinate the development and evaluation of proposals from South American offices


Keep the context analysis for the region up to date and report on overall progress and impact


Liaise with other WWF offices supporting South America to align investments in the WWF network


Work closely with WWF-NL conservation teams (Thematic, Green Finance and Food team) to stimulate innovation and thought leadership


Work with the WWF-NL engagement department to ensure the development and delivery of inspirational donor propositions that are aligned to our long-term objectives and timely and interactive reporting & storytelling 


Work with the WWF-NL Science & Impact team to ensure timely and consistent reporting, monitoring and evaluation of our investments in the region


Cooperate with key private & public sector actors and knowledge institutes in the Netherlands who work on relevant themes in the region


Identify opportunities to leverage WWF resources


Act as WWF-NL’s spokesperson for South America to internal and external stakeholders, including (potential) donors and national media.




Job requirements


You have a university degree in a field relevant to the main objectives for our work in South America – or you can provide evidence working on academic level.


You have at least 7 years of relevant international work experience


You have sound knowledge of and preferably experience with implementing an integrated landscape approach in relation to nature conservation. 


You have experience with program management


You are driven by facilitating the achievement of conservation results: a keen interest and affinity with nature and conservation. A background in/field experience with conservation ecology/biodiversity work (in South America) is an asset.


You are a great team player and are able to work jointly with local and international experts


You have organizational sensitivity and you are able to anticipate internal and external developments


You are well organized and comfortable working in a matrix and network structured international organization


You are open-minded, able to connect people and activities across themes and sectors, and have an eye for out-of-the-box opportunities and innovations in the field of conservation


Systematic and organized with an ability to work against deadlines, remain flexible and manage multiple responsibilities at the same time


You have excellent command of English language (oral and written). Dutch, Spanish and/or Portugues working proficiency are an asset.

Staff receive a personal budget that is made up of 8% holiday allowance and 2,08% flexible budget, and receive 6 weeks of holiday per year (based on a 40-hour contract);


We stimulate flexible working arrangements, the use of public transport and bike for work related travel. Employees receive an NS Business Card for 2nd class travel to and from work;


We also have a hybrid working model, so staff can alternate working from home and from the office.

Fundraising Coordinator


SCOPE

The Fundraising Coordinator is a key role in helping the Centre for Wildlife Studies (CWS) to grow

the scale and impact of our programs. The position engages with CWS staff to develop grant

proposals, build CSR networks, and develop new fundraising opportunities. The role requires

constant interactions and collaboration with all teams at CWS.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

● Assist the Executive Director and senior team in funding and funding related outreach work at

CWS.

● Develop and write proposals for any CWS programs and projects. Coordination of CWS staff

involved in planning, writing, and editing proposals with frequent progress review and

feedback with CWS senior management.

● Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on all submissions, grant-funded projects and

donors in relevant databases, and filing systems in coordination with the CWS accounts team.

● Identify new funding opportunities and liaise with potential donors. Manage

retail/crowdfunding platforms like Give India etc.

● Maintain donor databases for all fundraising activities, ensuring timely submissions and

contractual obligations.

● Manage and coordinate fundraising campaigns and events with crowdfunding platforms.

Submit donor reports that meet requirements and contractual obligations, ensuring that they

are of a high standard and submitted on time.

● Manage Donor management platforms like Salesforce NPSP/Zoho etc

REQUIRED SKILLS

● This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve the

required results in a demanding and fast paced environment, managing time effectively, and

adapting priorities to respond to changing demands and tight deadlines.

● Proven track record of writing successful proposals for research and conservation programs,

preferably in the wildlife and environment sector. 2-3 years of experience in fundraising.

● Experience and familiarity with CSR networks and funding opportunities in India.

● Excellent writing and research skills and computer literacy. Demonstrated ability to work

effectively as part of a team or independently.

● Good spoken and written communication skills (preferably English) as well as interpersonal

skills.

● Strong analytical (data/evidence gathering, analysis and interpretation, hypotheses framing

and validation) and research capabilities.

● Strong excel, communication, storytelling and presentations capabilities

● Comfort with technology usage and products.

Project Drawdown seeks an enthusiastic and organized Program Coordinator to join the Drawdown Science team. The Program Coordinator will be a crucial member of the Science team, managing cross-team projects, coordinating partnerships and engagements with outside stakeholders, and maintaining communication lines with partners that support and advance our work to scale climate solutions. In short, we are seeking someone with organizational and communication “superpowers” who can help coordinate and advance the critical work of our Science team.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will be a talented, independent multi-tasker eager to provide broad support to the Drawdown Science team. The role will be responsible for cross-team project management, coordinating our partnerships with diverse stakeholders, keeping on top of important paperwork (e.g., grant reports, communications with outside partners), and other critical coordination functions. In particular, the role will focus on:

  • Providing logistical, project management, and administrative support for Drawdown Science members
  • Support the preparation for and implementation of research projects, including communicating with program and research partners, maintaining timelines and documentation of research activities, and planning for and supporting implementation of research
  • Oversee program coordination and partner collaborations across multiple projects to ensure timely communication, information sharing, and project implementation
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with external partners
  • Manage logistics with an external steering committees
  • Coordinate and support work planning, budgeting, and reporting
  • Draft and edit copy for grant reports, website, op-eds, marketing materials, and other written products
  • Draft and edit presentation materials and other communication assets
  • Participate in communicating the organization’s vision, activities, and research results at meetings and events
  • Other duties as assigned

The Program Coordinator must work with independence and self-direction yet thrive in collaboration. They will manage and assist with many different projects while ensuring work stays focused and on deadline.

Previous experience in supporting scientific research teams is a must. Experience with climate and environmental issues is a big plus.

The position will report to the Executive Director.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required), Master’s degree (preferred) in a relevant field. Candidates with a strong background in science (especially environmental, earth, or climate science) preferred. Formal education in management (e.g., MBA, MPA) not required. 
  • 3-5 years of experience providing administrative and project management support to science-based teams, with strong written and oral communication skills in climate change, environmental science, or a related field. 
  • Prior experience working with scientists is strongly preferred.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to identify potential problems and propose solutions to keep projects on schedule.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate diverse tasks and facilitate relationships among multiple parties.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and to respond to changing situations flexibly.
  • Ability to track and coordinate priorities, themes, and research. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage the workflow of others on deadline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including conveying complex concepts clearly and concisely and helping stakeholders act on the information.
  • Comfortable representing Project Drawdown’s science interests at external meetings and events.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across operations, program, and research teams.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and to carry out projects. 
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and identify ways to support our fully remote team effectively.
  • Capable of managing own time and meeting deadlines.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and can-do attitude.
  • Fluency in English.

  • Comfortable with teleconferencing, project management tools, collaborative work environments, remote work, and virtual collaboration. 
  • Available to participate in video conferences on weekdays 9:00 am–5:00 pm Central Time US.

The role:


We are looking for a proactive Health & Welfare Standards Coordinator who would like to join our global Standards & Science team to support growth across our ASC standards of certification and further promote and develop a wide range of Aqua Health and Welfare topics.


You would directly support the ASC Health & Welfare Standards Manager (and surrounding teams) to centrally facilitate technical working groups focused on all topics related to fish health and welfare across the aquaculture space.


  • Can you lead and engage various stakeholders to interpret scientific data and analyse this in detail to suggest improvements for future revision of our standards?

Person Profile:


We need someone with strong moderation and professional influencing skills to lead stakeholder engagement as well as managing differing opinions within working groups. You will need to effectively lead lively discussions and provide expert guidance to improve fish health and welfare to various stakeholders, boosting our ASC certification standards worldwide!


Critical thinking is a must.. to be able to centrally interpret and present feedback, data & research to translate complex technical topics into practice. For example, the feasibility of farm level applications and risks of implementation of fish health and welfare improvements (best responsible practices for daily operations at Aqua farm, handling, slaughter and use of therapeutants).


We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:


  • Relevant education in the context of veterinary medicine and/or animal welfare & health (fish and crustaceans related would be an advantage)
  • Conversational leadership, development and management of topic discussions across various settings i.e. briefings, working groups, projects, reports, presentations etc.
  • Scientific influencing skills to enhance complex technical fish health & welfare topics
  • Strong adaptability and engagement to various stakeholders, internally and externally i.e. producers, farms, NGOs (environmental and social), retailers, scientific researchers and other invested parties.


Working on your own initiative, you should have good understanding of health & welfare issues and their impact on making the aquaculture sector more responsible. Ideally you will enjoy developing technical metrics, guidance, papers and reports for the development of Health and Welfare research and standards.
