Fundraising Coordinator


SCOPE

The Fundraising Coordinator is a key role in helping the Centre for Wildlife Studies (CWS) to grow

the scale and impact of our programs. The position engages with CWS staff to develop grant

proposals, build CSR networks, and develop new fundraising opportunities. The role requires

constant interactions and collaboration with all teams at CWS.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

● Assist the Executive Director and senior team in funding and funding related outreach work at

CWS.

● Develop and write proposals for any CWS programs and projects. Coordination of CWS staff

involved in planning, writing, and editing proposals with frequent progress review and

feedback with CWS senior management.

● Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on all submissions, grant-funded projects and

donors in relevant databases, and filing systems in coordination with the CWS accounts team.

● Identify new funding opportunities and liaise with potential donors. Manage

retail/crowdfunding platforms like Give India etc.

● Maintain donor databases for all fundraising activities, ensuring timely submissions and

contractual obligations.

● Manage and coordinate fundraising campaigns and events with crowdfunding platforms.

Submit donor reports that meet requirements and contractual obligations, ensuring that they

are of a high standard and submitted on time.

● Manage Donor management platforms like Salesforce NPSP/Zoho etc

REQUIRED SKILLS

● This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve the

required results in a demanding and fast paced environment, managing time effectively, and

adapting priorities to respond to changing demands and tight deadlines.

● Proven track record of writing successful proposals for research and conservation programs,

preferably in the wildlife and environment sector. 2-3 years of experience in fundraising.

● Experience and familiarity with CSR networks and funding opportunities in India.

● Excellent writing and research skills and computer literacy. Demonstrated ability to work

effectively as part of a team or independently.

● Good spoken and written communication skills (preferably English) as well as interpersonal

skills.

● Strong analytical (data/evidence gathering, analysis and interpretation, hypotheses framing

and validation) and research capabilities.

● Strong excel, communication, storytelling and presentations capabilities

● Comfort with technology usage and products.

Earth Species Project (ESP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to using AI to decode non-human communication. ESP partners with biologists and machine learning researchers at leading universities and institutions around the world, and we are honored to be supported by many forward-looking philanthropists and groups, including the Internet Archive, National Geographic, and the entrepreneur and author Reid Hoffman.

We are looking for a results-oriented Development Manager passionate about using their energy and exceptional organizational and fundraising skills to help secure the resources we need to accelerate AI research and conservation and, ultimately, to shift our relationship with the rest of nature.



PURPOSE OF ROLE

You will be responsible for working closely with our Director of Impact and our broader leadership team to secure funding for our ongoing research efforts. You will lead the development and maintenance of our fundraising processes and systems, maintain strong relationships with existing funders, research new funding opportunities, and build the team’s capacity to secure and manage grant funding opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES

ESP is currently funded by a relatively small group of committed individual donors and foundations. You will play a key role in the following:Leading the development and streamlining of effective fundraising processes and systems, including owning and managing the Hubspot CRM and fundraising database.
Working closely with the leadership team and board to expand the donor base significantly through their networks of relationships.
Effectively stewarding relationships with existing donors and securing renewals.
Conducting prospect research to identify new potential major gift donors and institutional funding relationships.
Developing a suite of fundraising materials to support effective asks, supporting correspondence, and taking an active role in planning and participating in fundraising meetings.
Leading the development of small in-person fundraising and stewardship events and coordinating and managing those events and subsequent follow-up.
Working closely with the communications team to ensure that ESP’s mission and programming are communicated effectively to current and potential donors.
Working closely with the program team and operations team to develop institutional fundraising proposals, and to deliver effective reporting to institutional funders.

We are a fully remote team. You can be located anywhere in the world, but will ideally be willing to work on East Coast U.S. working hours, with expectations to occasionally participate in virtual meetings outside your typical time zone working hours. Additionally, you must have the willingness to travel internationally (<20%) for events and in-person team gatherings.
YOUR BACKGROUND

You are a highly motivated and results-oriented fundraising professional with exceptional organizational skills. You are a quick study with an inherent ability to absorb large amounts of new material and seamlessly adapt your style to a wide range of relationships and styles. You thrive in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment, and like nothing better than bringing clarity and order to fundraising systems, while also remaining flexible and open to new opportunities.

You will bring: Substantial fundraising experience in the nonprofit, academic or business/technology sectors, ideally with significant exposure to the conservation and technology fields.
A track record of securing six-figure donations from high net worth individual donors.
A deep familiarity with the use of relationship management systems (CRMs) and other tools to drive fundraising success.
Experience in prospect research and donor stewardship.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and a proven ability to develop successful fundraising proposals and deliver high-quality funder reporting.
Experience in developing and implementing high-quality donor stewardship and cultivation events.
Ability to network at a senior level.

Pacific Fundraising Manager
• Location: Fiji, Australia or New Zealand

BirdLife International is the world’s largest nature conservation partnership. Through our unique local-to-global approach, we deliver high impact and long-term conservation for the benefit of nature and people.

We are searching for an enthusiastic, self-motivated person who is passionate about the environment. Reporting to the Regional Director, this newly created role is to work as part of the BirdLife Pacific Secretariat team and liaise with the BirdLife fundraising team globally, for Pacific conservation priorities.

We are looking for someone to specifically support resourcing for threatened species conservation, the protection of priority conservation areas and increase local, national and regional capacity for nature conservation within the BirdLife Pacific Partnership and priority countries for network development.

Institutional funding sources (particularly multi/bilateral) will form the primary focus and the integration of ‘BirdLife’ priorities with regionally relevant conservation approaches will be central to this success including Important Bird Areas and Key Biodiversity Areas, invasive species management, ecosystem based adaptation, nature based solutions, sustainable income generation and contribute to climate change resilience.

The role is also to increase our major donor and foundational grants; and is also responsible for finding other funding streams and diversifying the organisation’s income.

The role is ideally full time but part-time would be considered for the right candidate. You will be part of a small and passionate team in the Pacific. Due to the fact that you will also work as part of the international partnership you will need the ability to work outside of normal work office hours at times. The role will involve some travel.


The ideal candidate will have
• Significant experience as a successful fundraiser, preferably with institutional donors such as MFAT, DFAT, EU, USAid and Pacific orientated Trusts, Foundations and Corporations
• Technical fundraising expertise including problem analyses, logical frameworks and budgeting.
• Demonstrable ability to develop relationships with Corporate partners and Trusts
• Experience of researching institutional funding opportunities
• Good understanding of conservation, development and political interests in Pacific countries and territories and ability to articulate needs to donors in ‘selling’ BirdLife interests.
• Experience in managing donor relations, ideally with Pacific links
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills and able to lead fundraising processes
